Sun Valley

Student Yang arrived at the renowned Sun Valley this April. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho, Sun Valley is a historic and scenic town known for its ski tourism. The town attracts numerous visitors year-round, thanks to its snowy mountains, offering both winter and summer vacation opportunities. Our beautiful chef not only learns Western culinary techniques but also brings Sichuan cuisine to the U.S. Apart from making many international friends, she has introduced Sichuan food to America. Of course, outdoor sports in the Rocky Mountains are also a must—skiing, hiking, and ice skating are all part of the experience. She has made many friends and improved her English quickly, now being able to communicate seamlessly with locals. Every day is filled with joy.

Frankenmuth, Michigan – German Village

Our paid intern Roland arrived in the U.S. at the end of August. He works at a famous German village in Frankenmuth, Michigan, known for its Bavarian culture and cuisine. The Bavarian Inn Lodge is the most prestigious and highly rated hotel in the area. Its German-style restaurant is the most luxurious and unique, requiring months of advance reservations for dining. Roland, who started his internship in late August, is now the supervisor of the hot food section at this restaurant. He shared that this opportunity was amazing for him. Just after graduating from culinary school, he got to work in a cross-cultural environment, learning various Western cuisines and interacting with locals. His colleagues and supervisors are friendly and patient, though he sometimes misses Chengdu hotpot. In the first few days, he visited the local museum to learn about the history of German immigrants. As a student, he was able to get discounted tickets. In October, he even saw the Northern Lights, which was an exciting experience.
