Generally, the basic hourly salary is $12, 40 hours a week, and the basic salary is $480 a week, excluding tips, overtime and other income.

No, you can’t work part-time or transfer to other places unless there are special circumstances. All transfers must be approved by employers and sponsoring organizations in advance.

This position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of hotel catering service. You will participate in the daily operation of the catering industry and complete relevant training tasks, which may include catering waiters, beverage services, banquet settings and services, and food retail sales.
Front Office
This position gives you an opportunity to understand the daily operation of the front office of a hotel or resort. Training tasks may include front desk, reservation, concierge service, PBX and night audit.
Housekeeping supervisor
This position provides you with the opportunity to learn and practice the daily duties of housekeeping supervisor, including quality control, personnel scheduling, inventory management, laundry supervision and coordination between housekeeping department and other departments.
Cooking/kitchen management
You will participate in the daily cooking operation of the hotel, and the training tasks may include food preparation, sauce making, meat processing, assembly line cooking, pastry, bread and dessert making, cold and hot service, inventory management and kitchen hygiene.
Housing, lifestyle and travel:
If you stick to a specific city, your resettlement options may be limited. In addition, the cost of living in popular tourist destinations may be higher than your salary. You can use weekends, holidays or a 30-day grace period to visit these tourist attractions.

As a ]-1 exchange visitor, you can stay in the country for up to 30 days after the deadline of the DS-2019 form. This time is used for traveling and dealing with your affairs. During this period, you have no work permit.
J-2 visa is established for non-immigrant spouses or children of J-1 exchange visiting scholars, and it is designed to allow them to accompany or join their spouses or parents to the United States later.

Tax and legal information:
Like other people who work in the United States, you have to pay taxes, but you don’t have to pay all the taxes.
When you arrive at the training site, your reception company will ask you to fill in two important tax documents, namely, the 1-9 employment qualification verification form and the W-4 employee withholding tax allowance certificate.
Please be sure to indicate your permanent address in your country. This will ensure that your host company has the correct address to send you the W-2 income report at the end of the year.

The DS-2019 form is a document that allows you to apply for a J1 visa in the United States as an intern or trainee. The DS-2019 form is also called “qualification certificate”. It was issued to you by the sponsoring organization designated by the State Council, USA.
Interns and trainees should arrive in the United States within 6 to 8 weeks after receiving the employment notice and training plan provided by the receiving employer.
Yes, your sponsor will provide basic health insurance during your participation in the project and pay the insurance fee from your project fee. You will receive information about insurance after receiving the DS-2019 form from the sponsor.

No, the American embassy does not guarantee that you will get a J-1 visa. We ensure that each participant has the necessary documents for the visa interview and assist in appealing any visa refusal decision. The embassy hopes that you will return to your motherland after receiving training in the United States, and it is your responsibility to bring all necessary documents to attend the visa interview.
